So today is my last working day in the gallery and I've been training mum up to look after everything while I'm away. She's been through a mixed range of emotions today........ from indifference, to elation, to despair, to even more despair, to .... well.... even more despair. Good luck mum!! New Peter Luti mats and coasters!

The new mats have gone square! There are sets of 6 (£28) and sets of 4 (£20), 10 designs in all with sets of matching coasters (£16 for 6 and £12 for 4)

Spring Exhibition: Up and running

Mum did a fabulous job with a wee blog post I see. It's great that she's getting into the spirit of things before I head off on maternity leave (next week!). I think I'll have to go over putting photos on with her though...... it's easy when you know how, mum!

So the new exhibition is up and running and is so far being received with great enthusiasm. The weekend saw mum winning employee of the week as she sold lots of lovely pieces of art. Good job mum!
We have a delightful array of Peter Luti postcards which are proving very popular.... especially the big bums - I don't know what it is with my dad's fascination with large posteriors.
So all the new work is up and ready to be viewed (and bought!). I can tell you that hanging paintings is not as nearly as easy or fun at nine months pregnant than it used to be pre-pregnancy! I will be very sad to leave the gallery when I'm on maternity leave, but not sorry to have a break from changing exhibitions!
I like this little display of Peter Luti & Gio Martin's. I think the work compliments each other very well (there's even a couple of Marsha originals in there that don't look too bad as well).

New Exhibition now open

It has been a very busy week leading up to this exhibition, not just because of the hanging of new paintings from various artists, but also because Marsha has been very, VERY patient in helping me with the intracacies of updating the website and other essential aspects of running the gallery. She is off on maternity leave as from the 13th March and I will be in charge.

New opening times are: Open -Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 12.00 - 17:00.
Sundays 13.00 - 17.00. Closed - Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Getting ready for new arrivals.

This week we are preparing the new exhibition, so paintings are being delivered all week ready for opening the show on Saturday.

Dad has been beavering away as usual coming up with the goods for the new show. Art is not the only thing we are expecting to arrive very soon, however........
..... with only 4 weeks until our due date, we're expecting a little art lover to arrive at some point during the spring exhibtion. Then my mum (Sandie) will be running the gallery. Until then, I'm happily receiving paintings.
Eilean Donnan is one of the typically quirky Gail Stirling Robertson's in the new show.
And Brian Petrie;s work is also full of character. Another vibrant and delightful exhibition indeed!

Peter Luti - Something different.

Merry Christmas to everyone - I hope you had a great time, and got lots of lovelies in your stockings. Dad has been busy creating away.... possibly inspired by the stormy weather we've been experiencing lately.
Still unmistakably in his unique style, dad has done for something a bit different - a refreshing change I think!
And this (what at first I assumed to be a village) is a coastal farm.
Nice work dad!

Peter Luti - Another two newbies

Dad has been a busy wee bee getting ready for the new exhibition and has managed to get another 2 finished in time. Beautiful colours with the sunset (I'm partial to a bit of purple myself), and the pinks set a lovely warm tone in his pieces.

These will come in very handy as from the 7 he originally had to submit for the winter show, we only have 3 left.... and that's without them even being hung yet!

Peter Luti - Artist, New work

We're just about to change over the exhibitions ready for the winter and Peter has been painting up a storm with some new work. Ever popular, dad (Peter)'s paintings don't seem to stay in the gallery very long.

There is something about his textural use and bold colours that capture the imagination and dad's work has been a continual success in the gallery since we opened five and a half years ago.
Peter's constant development of his style, and his unique technical application draws people into his simplistic views of the landscapes that surround the Scottish Coastline.
Not only does the west coast of Scotland evoke brilliant colour use, but Peter is now looking to the Tuscan landscape for warmer inspiration of his paintings.

Robert Ryan - Glass, new work

We're just about to change over the exhibitions from Autunno to Inverno (winter), and as the temperature changes so does the work.
Robert Ryan popped in a few days ago with some of his new pieces..... his work constantly evolves and I'm always amazed at the difference in his still distinctly recognisable work.
The change comes as Robert develops his techniques further, and pushes the boundaries of his (seemingly endless) limitations, yet continuing to capture the unique essence that always draws us staright into the body of his work.

Truly remarkable.
